Makaraang batikusin ang dagdag na requirements para sa mga magbibiyaheng Pinoy palabas ng bansa, tinukoy ng Department of Justice ang mga bansang itinuturing na hotspots para sa human trafficking.
“For Filipinos, they are Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos and these are the countries that we have further engaged with and strengthened our cooperation with in order to stop this cross-border crime,” sabi ni Justice Assistant Secretary Mico Clavano sa isang Presidential Communications Office (PCO)-sponsored Saturday News Forum sa Quezon City.
Kasama aniya sa agenda sa ASEAN Summit ang human trafficking na gaganapin sa Indonesia.
“ We have given the President a situationer previously on the area of human trafficking and he understands very clearly the depth and how widespread this problem is. In fact, he has given specific instructions to maintain our Tier 1 ranking – that means he will support all the facets and all the programs that the IACAT has already put in place and he would like to enhance those programs,” ani Clavano.
“We have to understand that our population is very migratory population, around 10% of our population seeks to travel abroad and to find their opportunities abroad and this is very specific to our country as opposed or as compared to other countries who have job opportunities where they are,” wika ng DOJ official.
