Ilang araw matapos mai-upload ni UP Fighting Maroons team captain CJ Cansino ang outing vlog ng koponan sa Subic, bumalik siya rito kasama si UAAP Season 86 Rookie of the Year Francis Lopez upang personal na manghingi ng tawad sa isang lalaking nagtatrabaho sa isang karnabal na tinanggalan ni Lopez ng maskara habang nakasakay sila sa horror train.
Sa Facebook post ng Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority nitong Biyernes, makikita ang dalawang manlalaro sa Subic Fiesta Carnival kasama si Jomari Aquino, ang trabahador ng karnabal na tinanggalan ng maskara ni Lopez.
Ayon sa SBMA, nagbigay ang dalawang manlalaro ng basketball jersey at university shirt kay Aquino bilang “tokens of goodwill.”
“The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, thru the efforts of the Public Relations Office, earlier mediated the concerned parties so as not to further aggravate versions that have been posted on social media, and as a gesture of showing the Agency’s sincerity in looking after the welfare of the Subic Bay Freeport workforce,” saad nila sa post kung saan makikita ang litrato nina Cansino at Lopez kasama si Aquino.
“No hard feelings na po,” sabi naman ni Aquino sa naging pagkikita nila ng dalawang atleta kasama ang may-ari ng karnabal na si Gloria Quiroz at Armie Llamas ng SBMA.
Makikita sa vlog ni Cansino na naglaro sila ng basketball at sumakay pa sa rides ng naturang karnabal noong Disyembre 16. Agad namang pinuna ng netizens ang pagtanggal ni Lopez sa maskara ng isang lalaking nananakot sa horror train.
Una nang nanghingi ng dispensa sa Cansino sa nangyaring insidente.
“Una po sa lahat, humihingi ako ng dispensa sa tao behind the mask at sa mga nakapanood ng vlog. I take full responsibility for what happened,” sambit niya.
“Walang rason para manakit ng tao, at very sorry si Francis for what happened. Kasama si Francis, we have been trying to contact the person po so we can personally apologize for this,” dagdag pa niya.
Nagpahayag naman ng pagsisisi si Lopez sa kanyang ginawa.
“On a recent outing with my teammates to a carnival in Subic, I inadvertently hurt a carnival employee in one of the carnival rides. This thoughtless moment was recorded on video and was later posted on social media, and I take full responsibility for what happened,” pahayag ni Lopez.
“I am sorry for any harm that I have caused, and I am committed to learning from this experience. I will do my best to be more mindful of my actions in the future, and I will make every effort to remember that what I do reflects on the values of my family, my team, and the university I represent. Thank you to the UP community for your support and for holding me accountable for my actions. On the court and off it, I promise to do my best not to let you down,” pagpapatuloy pa niya.
