“We haven’t achieved our goal of having rice priced at 20 pesos (per kilogram)yet, but we are doing everything we can,” sabi niya sa kanyang talumpati sa paglagda sa memorandum of agreement na nagtatayo ng Kadiwa ng Pangulo sa buong bansa kanina.
“The Kadiwa program is very simple: What we are doing is bringing the market closer to the farmers. That’s why we significantly reduce the involvement of middlemen and minimize the added costs,” sabi ni Marcos Jr.
“But as I always remind everyone, just because we established Kadiwa doesn’t mean our production is sufficient. We really have to continue working hard, not only to supply agricultural products and food but also to be able to export,” dagdag niya.
Kabilang sa mga ahensyang pumirma sa MOA ay ang Department of Agriculture (DA), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Presidential Management Staff (PMS), at ang Presidential Communications Office (PCO).###
